DIRECTOR & SCREENWRITER

Raised in Detroit, Michigan, Lawrence Lamont is a screenwriter and director interlacing
narratives with a warm essence of light and transcendence through a compassionate lens. Lamont's cinematic and
majestic approach to storytelling takes place in the sphere of commercials, music videos, TV, and
film.
His body of work explores the nuances in social dynamics with a desire to illuminate, empower,
and raise the vibration of positivity and love.
Inspired at an early age, Lamont's affinity for world-building began in his aunt's home in
Detroit. Her basement was filled with VHS tapes with blank covers and hand-written titles. Because his aunt
sometimes recorded multiple films on the same tape, many endings were cut off, leaving Lamont free range to
imagine his endings. He later discovered that he was creating new endings for classics which led him to his
influences such as Spike Lee, John Singleton, Martin Scorsese, and Spike Jonze.
He is managed by ColorCreative and sits on the board of the
Michigan Film Industry Association with an aim to build an innovative and sustainable industry.
